Asian grocery stores and supermarkets stock ingredients, snacks and household goods that general American supermarkets often do not carry, organized by category rather than by country of origin in most stores. Produce and live or fresh seafood sections are usually at the back or side of the store, and weekend mornings bring the largest crowds and freshest restock. Many larger Asian supermarkets include a hot deli or food court counter selling prepared meals by the pound or as fixed plates, useful for a quick lunch while shopping. Labels are frequently bilingual or untranslated, so store staff can usually help locate a specific ingredient if you ask. Cash, cards and mobile pay are all commonly accepted at larger chains; smaller specialty shops may be cash-preferred.

The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 7 am–4 pm. Note that it does not open on Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (313) 566-0042. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, starfishandseafood.com.

Its Google rating stands at 3.4 out of 5 from 60 reviews, which is below average for the category; consider the recent reviews carefully before visiting.

Detroit is in Michigan, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Detroit follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

The Media Needs To Know About This Place Who Serves The Public This is the worse of the worst this is the second time this has happened I purchased 14 Blue Gills and the manger was present and did the cleaning of the fish because the regular person from what I was told hadn't come in yet but nonetheless the fish wasn't scaled good at all it seems as though that was something he didn't want to do the way he was racing through them and tossing the poorly scale fish Been patronizing for years and drives 40 miles round trip and get this crap from this point forward going to Al's fish market right down the street you get better treatment there and what i purchased there today is cheaper at Al's can't beat good service that's why I'm choosing Al's Fish Market always shared between the two but WAS going to Star Fish more often NOT NO MORE I'M DONE WITH THE CRAP this isn't the first time it has happened and one time they sold me some spoiled catfish had to take it back the next day because of the distance

Today, I bought fish from here and the guy that was selling the fish gave me fish from the bottom and it tasted rotten after it was cooked. Also Before it was cooked it smelled really weird. Never coming back and I don’t recommend it.

Stay Away !!!! Bought a bad batch of salmon (very oily and greasy after baking and air frying) this past Saturday. I bought and cooked 7 pounds. I went back to Starfish today (Monday 6-9-2025 around 2:30pm) to ask for a refund or replacement spoke with manager who refused to accommodate me in any manner. He blamed me and said I cooked it wrong. Also please note the day before Saturday on Friday I bought from Starfish 6 pounds of what they told me was wild caught salmon. I cooked it that evening the same way baked and air fried and it was perfect no oily or greasiness and it was very delicious. I told that manager all this and he refused to help me and told me to just buy more of their salmon. I told this manager we could not eat the salmon and would have to throw it away ( I did have the cooked salmon with me but he refused to even look at it or look at some pictures I had on my phone) but he deliberately ignored me and walked away. In addition, please know that they do not have a sign on any of their seafood that indicates whether it is wild caught or farm raised. I only eat wild caught salmon and other wild caught seafood. Therefore there is a good possibility that this last purc

Call to inquire about a case of large crab legs. First off, I had to double-check that it was a business that I called being the way that the phone was answered. You would expect better from a business located in the Eastern Market area. I got the price per pound but when I asked about the case price he hung up on me like I was bothering him. I'll spend my money somewhere else

The worst seafood ever. Sold us old shrimp and freezer burnt crab legs. Plus customer service was not friendly nor honest at all. I highly recommend not to buy any seafood from here. Truly a disappointment and waste of money. They should be shut down.
